Impetigo of Bockhart. There are several perifollicular pustules surrounded by erythema.



Early lesion of lichen planopilaris. A number of perifollicular violaceous papules can be seen.



Psoriasis. A large red scaling plaque is present in the temporal region, but hair growth appears normal.



Folliculitis decalvans. An area if scarring alopecia is surrounded by an advancing border of perifollicular redness and crusting.



Scarring resulting from hair straightening. There is an extensive scarring alopecia that progressed over many years and was accompanied by folliculitis. After discontinuing the hair straightening, which included hot comb and oil treatments as well of application of chemicals, the inflammatory component disappeared, but the alopecia persisted.



Alopecia Areata and receding hairline.

Alopecia Areata.

Trichotillomania, the so called hair-pulling tic.
Client develops the nervous habit of plucking or twisting off his/her own hair.
